General Manager – Hotel Operations

About the role

The General Manager will lead the Crowne Plaza Auckland, a 352‑room hotel located in the city’s central business district. This role is responsible for driving overall hotel performance, market positioning and guest satisfaction in a highly competitive market.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all hotel operations and commercial performance across rooms, food & beverage, events and other revenue streams.
• Drive market positioning, revenue generation index (RGI) performance, profitability and guest satisfaction metrics.
• Partner with ownership to deliver strong operational and financial outcomes.
• Lead, engage and develop a high‑performing team focused on accountability and guest experience.
• Navigate a competitive CBD market with strategic focus and agility.
• Support future repositioning, redevelopment and renovation initiatives.
• Foster employee engagement, development and retention.
• Build relationships with the local market and broader community.

Required profile

• Proven General Manager experience in comparable hotel environments.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering results.
• Experience operating in competitive city or CBD markets.
• Strategic mindset with strong operational leadership capability.
• Confident stakeholder and owner management skills.
• Ability to lead, engage and develop high‑performing teams.
• Understanding of guest experience and culture‑driven leadership.
• Previous experience in Australasia or similar markets is advantageous.
• Experience with hotel renovations is highly regarded.
