Fundraising Specialist

About the role
Deaf Aotearoa is seeking a Fundraising Specialist to expand its fundraising activities across New Zealand. This hands‑on, full‑time position will allow you to work directly with supporters, community groups and schools, turning ideas into successful campaigns.
Key responsibilities
- Lead community and peer‑to‑peer fundraising, including national events such as Round the Bays.
- Support DIY fundraisers, schools, workplaces and community groups.
- Manage the community elements of internal campaigns and national appeals.
- Provide excellent supporter care and follow‑up.
- Maintain and optimise online fundraising pages using data insights.
Required profile
- Experience in fundraising, events, or supporter engagement, or transferable skills.
- Confident communicator across phone, email, video and in‑person.
- Organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage competing priorities.
- Understanding of inclusive communication and diverse communities.
- Willingness to learn NZSL and Deaf culture.
Required skills
- Familiarity with CRM systems.
- Experience or willingness to learn peer‑to‑peer platforms such as Funraisin, Grassrootz and Raisely.
