Full Stack Software Engineer (Hybrid, Wellington)

About the role

Tourwriter is looking for an Intermediate Full Stack Software Engineer to join a 1‑year fixed‑term contract. You will work closely with senior engineers and the Product team to design, build and maintain features that add real value for travel designers using our platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain both frontend and backend features using React, Node.js and PostgreSQL.
• Build intuitive, high‑quality user interfaces and robust backend services.
• Create and maintain APIs and integrations with external systems (REST, WebSockets).
• Write clean, maintainable and well‑tested code, and participate in code reviews.
• Use AI tools daily to accelerate coding, reviewing and testing, while critically evaluating AI‑generated suggestions.
• Support production issues, improve system reliability, performance and scalability.
• Contribute to testing automation, CI/CD pipelines and reduction of technical debt.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience across frontend and backend development.
• Ownership mindset and enjoyment of solving technical problems.
• Interest in continuous growth as a full‑stack engineer.
• Experience using AI tools to improve development efficiency.
