Full Stack Software Engineer – Auckland or Wellington

About the role

The Software Engineer (Full Stack) will deliver end‑to‑end software solutions across both front‑end and back‑end systems for ANZ’s digital sales platforms. You will work on high‑quality UI and API development, shaping customer‑facing experiences that are fast, reliable and secure across ecosystems such as Online Store, Sales Delivery Platform, OPAL and ANZ Apply.

Key responsibilities

• Design clear, effective technical and non‑technical solutions that meet customer and business needs throughout the full software development lifecycle.
• Develop features end‑to‑end in close collaboration with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Designers and Architects.
• Apply modern engineering practices including clean code, automated testing, code reviews and CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership, mentor engineers and guide technical decisions.
• Monitor and improve platform health by managing technical debt, maintaining system currency and implementing meaningful logs, metrics, dashboards and alerts.
• Embed security by design, comply with standards and address vulnerabilities promptly.
• Support incident management, diagnose issues and work with SRE partners to reduce manual toil.
• Contribute to agile ways of working, using data and feedback to simplify processes and drive continuous improvement.
