Fresh Food Assistant – Service Deli

About the role

We are looking for a full‑time Fresh Food Assistant to join the Service Deli team at New World Mt. Roskill. In this position you will help deliver high‑quality fresh‑food products while providing friendly, efficient service to our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, display and replenish fresh‑food items in the deli and service areas.
• Maintain hygiene and food‑safety standards according to store policies.
• Assist customers with product information, portioning and special requests.
• Operate deli equipment such as slicers, scales and display cases safely.
• Support inventory checks and receive fresh‑food deliveries.

Required profile

• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Reliable work ethic with the ability to work independently.
