Food and Beverage Attendant / Barista

About the role

The Food and Beverage Attendant/Barista joins Mövenpick Hotel Auckland’s vibrant hospitality team. You will act as a host, storyteller and brand ambassador, delivering high‑quality coffee, tea and specialty beverages while supporting restaurant, bar and café service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve premium coffee, tea and specialty drinks in line with brand standards.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including equipment setup, stock replenishment and area cleanliness.
• Provide proactive food and beverage service across the restaurant, bar and café, recommending items and upselling where appropriate.
• Develop thorough knowledge of menus, beverages and hotel offerings to engage confidently with guests.
• Communicate clearly with kitchen and hotel teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety and cleanliness throughout all service areas.

Required profile

• Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging guests from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Positive, adaptable attitude and composure under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays and varied shift times.

Required skills

• Barista certification (or equivalent experience preparing specialty coffee).
• Specialty coffee preparation.
