Fisher A Factory Hand & Quality Control (QC) on FV Aukaha

About the role

Join Sealord's FV Aukaha as a Fisher A Factory Hand with a focus on Quality Control (QC). Based in Nelson, you will spend alternating 2‑4 week periods at sea and on shore, ensuring the highest standards of fish processing on board.

Key responsibilities

• Perform factory hand duties on a deep‑sea trawler, handling fish processing tasks.
• Conduct quality control checks throughout the processing line to verify product standards.
• Maintain hygiene and safety standards, using supplied personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work in 8‑hour shift patterns, alternating on‑ and off‑ship periods.
• Collaborate with crew members, following instructions and safety protocols.

Required profile

• Minimum of one year experience working in a factory on a deep‑sea trawler.
• Positive, can‑do attitude with strong teamwork and safety focus.
• Resilience and respect for the marine environment.
• Legal entitlement to live and work in New Zealand.
• Willingness to undergo a pre‑employment drug test and medical assessment.
