Financial Operations Officer

About the role

The Finance & Analytics Directorate is looking for a Financial Operations Officer to support the university’s finance operations. You will work within a collaborative finance team, handling accounts payable, receivable, cash management and procure‑to‑pay processes while contributing to accurate financial information and efficient transactional workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and within agreed timeframes.
• Support procure‑to‑pay activities, including invoice processing and vendor management.
• Complete bank, clearing and control account reconciliations, resolving any variances.
• Maintain supplier and customer records in line with policies and controls.
• Respond to financial queries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with month‑end activities such as journals, accruals and reconciliations.
• Identify and contribute to process and system improvements across Financial Operations.
• Provide coverage and support to the wider Financial Operations team as needed.

Required profile

• Experience in financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable or cash management.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
• Ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet service deadlines.
• Effective communication and relationship‑building skills.
• A qualification in accounting, finance, business administration or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• Experience with an ERP system such as Oracle.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
