Financial Analyst (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role
Wellington Electricity is seeking a Financial Analyst to own and operate end‑to‑end financial forecasting, modelling and analysis for a major regulatory programme. This 12‑month fixed‑term position works directly with the CFO, senior leaders and the Customised Price Path (CPP) regulatory team.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain integrated financial models covering P&L, balance sheet and cashflow.
- Perform scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis and improve forecast accuracy.
- Provide financial inputs for CAPEX business cases and investment decisions.
- Prepare structured financial outputs for CPP regulatory submissions and ensure they are accurate and defensible.
- Align financial forecasts with delivery assumptions, risks and constraints.
- Identify trends, variances and performance drivers and communicate them early.
- Work across systems and datasets (SAP, Power BI, etc.) to ensure data reliability.
Required profile
- At least five years of experience in financial analysis and forecasting, covering integrated P&L, balance sheet and cashflow.
- Strong financial modelling capability, comfortable building models from scratch.
- Ability to work with large datasets, identify trends, risks and drivers.
- Confidence explaining numbers to non‑financial stakeholders.
- Experience in infrastructure, utilities or regulated environments is a plus.
