Financial Accountant

About the role

Aliaxis is seeking a commercially‑minded Financial Accountant to join its New Zealand finance team. Based in Ashburton or Christchurch with travel between the sites, the role offers hybrid working and the chance to influence financial reporting, tax compliance and business partnering across manufacturing, supply‑chain and commercial functions.

Key responsibilities

• Support monthly and year‑end financial reporting, including reconciliations, accruals and provisions.
• Prepare management and group reporting submissions.
• Manage direct and indirect tax compliance (GST, FBT, NRWT, income tax).
• Assist with statutory reporting and external audit requirements.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and compliance processes.
• Analyse financial results, investigate variances and provide insights.
• Handle intercompany transactions and branch transfer accounting.
• Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting and planning.
• Utilise ERP systems and reporting tools to improve financial visibility.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance processes, controls and efficiencies.
