Financial Accountant

About the role

This is a six‑month fixed‑term opportunity with a fast‑growing financial services business operating in New Zealand and Australia. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will own core accounting activities, support month‑end close, and help shape the finance function as the company scales.

Key responsibilities

• Own month‑end and core financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Improve finance processes, systems, controls and compliance.
• Lead coordination with external auditors.
• Partner with finance leadership and senior stakeholders across NZ and Australia.
• Support the uplift of the finance function to match business growth.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Financial Accountant with a strong process‑improvement mindset.
• CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience with NZ and Australian payroll is a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence senior leaders.
• Proactive, resilient and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment.
