Financial Accountant

About the role

PGG Wrightson Seeds is looking for a Financial Accountant to join its Finance team at the head office in Lincoln, New Zealand. Reporting to the Head of Reporting & Compliance, you will be responsible for delivering accurate statutory reporting, tax compliance and audit support across the Oceania region.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory financial statements for Oceania entities, including joint ventures.
• Support the annual audit process and provide timely information to auditors.
• Prepare and review indirect tax returns (GST, FBT, NRWT, RWT) for New Zealand entities.
• Assist with year‑end tax estimates, wash‑ups and tax disclosures, including international tax matters such as transfer pricing and BEPS Pillar Two.
• Review Group and OneStream reporting submissions and perform key reconciliations.
• Conduct balance‑sheet reviews, focusing on high‑risk and judgemental accounts.
• Oversee intercompany balances, transactions and reconciliations.
• Ensure correct recognition, classification and presentation of capital expenditure and asset accounting.
• Maintain IFRS 16 lease reporting using the Nomos lease system.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting processes, controls and standards across Oceania.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant qualification or equivalent.
• Several years of post‑qualification experience in financial reporting and compliance.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, including asset accounting, leases and tax accounting.
• Ability to manage deadlines, produce high‑quality reporting and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
