Financial Accountant

About the role

ARYZTA is seeking a results‑driven Financial Accountant to join its New Zealand Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide high‑quality financial insights, support reporting processes, and partner with key stakeholders across bakery operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support periodic reporting cycles, including trial balance reviews and commentary.
• Deliver detailed financial and operational analysis to identify performance drivers and provide actionable insights.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports covering sales, P&L, cash flow, and capital expenditure.
• Prepare and post general ledger journals (accruals, pre‑payments, amortisation).
• Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register and complete monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital‑expenditure reviews.
• Enter financial results into the Group reporting system and assist with audit queries.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Working towards a CA or CPA qualification.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Collaborative, pragmatic, and commercially minded.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Great Plains).
