Ferry Crew Member – Stewart Island (Rakiura)

About the role

Join RealNZ’s close‑knit maritime team on Stewart Island, operating a 4‑on/4‑off roster delivering unforgettable Foveaux Strait journeys. You’ll serve food and drinks, share local stories, and keep the vessel ship‑shape while supporting safe operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist guests with luggage, freight and line handling.
• Serve food and beverages and provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain cleanliness and overall condition of the vessel.
• Support safe navigation and daily operations of the ferry.
• Share local history and stories to enhance guest experience.

Required profile

• Maritime experience and a genuine love for the sea.
• Full NZ driver’s licence (essential).
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Experience on the Foveaux Strait is a plus.
• Forklift licence is an advantage.
