Fermentation Operations & Quality Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Fermentation Operations & Quality Specialist to join our PC2 fermentation facility in Manukau. The role combines large‑scale 3,000 L production, quality assurance/quality control, and compliance with NP3 and MPI standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily fermentation runs up to 3,000 L, ensuring process parameters are met.
• Perform QA/QC testing on raw materials, in‑process samples and finished product.
• Maintain documentation and traceability to satisfy NP3 and MPI regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with production, engineering and regulatory teams to resolve deviations.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in biotechnology, microbiology, chemical engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in large‑scale fermentation environments.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work on‑site in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
