Facilities & Safety Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking a practical and highly organised Facilities & Workplace Coordinator to keep our Christchurch site running smoothly. This hands‑on role supports a large engineering team by ensuring the workplace is safe, well‑maintained, and operational on a day‑to‑day basis.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate Health & Safety activities, including incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions and compliance documentation.
• Maintain Health & Safety records, registers, training records and audit documentation.
• Support site inspections, audits, risk assessments and other compliance activities.
• Track Health & Safety actions to completion and ensure timely follow‑up.
• Manage building maintenance, repairs and everyday facilities issues across the site.
• Serve as primary contact for landlords, contractors and service providers.
• Oversee contractor access, inductions, permits and on‑site works.
• Coordinate workplace changes, office moves, fit‑outs and facilities projects.
• Manage external service providers such as cleaning, security, fire compliance, waste management and maintenance contractors.
• Support site security, access control, emergency preparedness and overall workplace compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, organisation and site functionality.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of coordination or administrative experience in a busy operational or office environment (e.g., Facilities Coordinator, Workplace Coordinator, Office Manager, Operations Administrator, Site Coordinator, or Health & Safety Administrator).
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work with contractors and internal teams, and maintain accurate follow‑up on tasks.
• Proactive, practical mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Clear communication skills and a reliable “get things done” approach.
