Experienced Audit Associate – Hamilton

About the role

Deloitte is seeking an Experienced Audit Associate to join its Audit, Assurance and Reporting Advisory team in Hamilton. You will work with a diverse client base across multiple industries, delivering high‑quality audit and assurance services while developing your professional expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Present audit findings and recommend actionable solutions to clients.
• Review written advice, reports, memoranda and other deliverables for accuracy and compliance.
• Apply analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills to support client business strategies.
• Understand audit and risk advisory issues, addressing complex stakeholder needs.
• Build strong relationships with clients and internal teams, communicating effectively.
• Deliver exceptional client service and collaborate across borders.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of audit experience in a chartered accountancy firm.
• Demonstrated knowledge of IFRS and New Zealand accounting standards.
• Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting.
• CAANZ full membership or working towards qualification.
• Strong analytical, numerical and project‑management abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Understanding of IFRS.
• Familiarity with NZ accounting standards.
