Executive Director

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Executive Director to lead a future‑focused organisation that delivers vocational education and training solutions across New Zealand. The role will be based in Auckland (or Wellington) and will run for a 12‑month fixed term, guiding the organisation through a critical transition period.

Key responsibilities

• Manage operational delivery to ensure continuity and high performance of services.
• Oversee financial performance and meet all statutory obligations.
• Build and maintain relationships with sector stakeholders and industry partners.
• Lead the transition process, keeping employees informed, engaged and supported.
• Drive change management initiatives and ensure smooth implementation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in the vocational education sector, preferably with an ITO or PTE.
• Proven track record at Executive Director, Chief Executive or General Manager level.
• Strong operational leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Demonstrated expertise in change management and leading organisational transitions.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging internal and external stakeholders.
