Excavator Operator – Civil Construction

About the role

Brian Perry Civil is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join its civil construction team. You will operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently across a variety of projects, supporting the crew to deliver high‑quality work while taking pride in getting the job done right.

Key responsibilities

• Operate excavators and other civil construction plant safely and efficiently
• Complete excavation, trenching, grading and earthworks activities
• Carry out daily pre‑start checks and basic plant maintenance
• Read plans and work to site specifications and project requirements
• Work closely with supervisors and crew members to keep projects moving
• Support the wider team with labouring, spotting and other site duties when required

Required profile

• At least 3 years' experience operating excavators in a civil construction environment
• Class 1 Driver Licence and WTR endorsements
• Strong knowledge of construction plant, equipment and safe operating practices
• Ability to read and follow plans, instructions and work schedules
• Proactive approach to health and safety and team wellbeing
• Reliable, practical and willing to pitch in wherever needed
