Entry-Level Stock Person – Pig Farming

About the role

DNA Lands Limited is seeking an enthusiastic entry‑level Stock Person to join its pork production unit, "Crackling Good", located in Central Hawkes Bay. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day care of weaner and grower pigs, ensuring they thrive in a comfortable and healthy environment while meeting weekly weight targets.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the health and welfare of weaner and grower pigs.
• Maintain clean, comfortable housing conditions for the animals.
• Track and achieve weekly weight gain targets.
• Keep accurate records of animal health, feed, and growth.
• Support other staff with various piggery tasks as needed.
• Assist with general day‑to‑day operations of the pig farm.

Required profile

• Genuine empathy for animals and a strong concern for their well‑being.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of animal handling.
• Team‑oriented mindset with good organisational skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to keep precise records.
• Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions.
• Some experience in agriculture is advantageous but not required.
