Enterprise Architect

About the role

This senior enterprise architecture position is responsible for shaping the data and information architecture of a large public sector agency in New Zealand. You will create a connected architectural vision that supports digital transformation, governance and better decision‑making across the department.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and advance enterprise‑wide data and information architecture aligned with organisational priorities.
• Produce architecture roadmaps, define standards and principles, and guide technology investments.
• Provide strategic advice and thought leadership on data management, integration and governance.
• Collaborate with senior leaders, product teams, technical specialists and external partners to embed policies and guardrails.
• Identify emerging opportunities, assess new technologies and balance innovation with compliance and security.

Required profile

• Extensive experience shaping data and information architecture in large, complex organisations.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across competing priorities.
• Strong collaborative and communication skills, comfortable engaging with executives and technical teams.
• Pragmatic approach to delivering future‑state architectures while ensuring practical implementation.
