Engineering Manager

About the role
As the Engineering Manager at DB Breweries, you will lead the maintenance and engineering function to ensure the brewery operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will sit on the senior leadership team, driving performance while building a strong, capable engineering team.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the engineering and maintenance team to deliver safe, reliable operations.
- Develop and implement short‑term (1 year) and long‑term (3 year) maintenance plans.
- Contribute as a core member of the brewery leadership team.
- Drive continuous improvement through Heineken’s World Class Manufacturing programme.
- Manage maintenance systems, processes, performance, budgets, suppliers and service partners.
- Lead safety, food safety and environmental initiatives.
- Support water, energy and sustainability improvement programmes.
- Ensure compliance with New Zealand legislation and engineering standards.
- Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling and spare‑parts processes.
- Deliver site projects, including CAPEX projects up to $1 million.
- Improve collaboration across operations, procurement and engineering teams.
Required profile
- Engineering degree (Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical).
- Proven leadership experience in manufacturing or operations.
- Strong maintenance or engineering background (FMCG experience a plus).
- Experience leading high‑performing teams.
- Solid understanding of maintenance planning and systems.
- Continuous‑improvement mindset (Lean, TPM or similar).
- Project‑management experience.
