Engineering Manager

About the role

Everbridge is looking for a hands‑on Engineering Manager to join its Auckland engineering team. You will lead a group of engineers while staying close to the code, helping deliver high‑quality software for the company’s agentic AI platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support a team of engineers, fostering a strong engineering culture.
• Contribute directly to design, development, and delivery of applications and APIs, remaining hands‑on with architecture and coding as needed.
• Drive technical discussions and provide leadership on architecture, scalability, quality, and best practices.
• Remove blockers, coordinate with cross‑functional partners, and ensure reliable, sustainable delivery.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including technical leadership and production system delivery.
• Proven experience coaching, mentoring, and managing engineers (people‑management experience preferred).
• Strong technical credibility with a willingness to write code and review designs.
• Ability to balance people leadership, technical decision‑making, and delivery management.
• Interest in solving complex problems that keep people safe.
