Employment Solicitor

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Employment Solicitor to join our Tauranga office. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality employment law advice and representation to a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on employment agreements, workplace policies, restructures, disciplinary and performance processes, and health and safety matters.
• Draft legal opinions, contracts, and correspondence.
• Manage case files and represent clients at mediations and hearings.
• Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas and contribute to client training and seminars.
• Support business development initiatives and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Strong foundational law skills, including legal research, drafting, and advisory capabilities.
• Expertise in employment law, with experience in disputes, compliance, and workplace relations.
• Admission as a barrister and solicitor (or eligibility for admission) in New Zealand and a current or attainable practising certificate.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build constructive client relationships.
• Proven ability to manage workloads, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
