About the role
Skills Trades Training is seeking a registered electrician to join its Christchurch campus as an Electrical Tutor. The role focuses on mentoring apprentices, delivering practical electrical training, and supporting learners to achieve industry qualifications.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver hands‑on, industry‑relevant electrical training across apprentice block courses and specialised programmes.
- Facilitate classroom and workshop sessions, coach learners through technical concepts and assess their progress.
- Maintain a safe, well‑organised training environment and contribute to continuous improvement of programme delivery.
Required profile
- Registered electrician (NZ Electrical Registration) who enjoys explaining trade skills.
- Experience mentoring apprentices on site and a genuine interest in supporting learners.
- Practical, organised, safety‑focused and confident communicating with a range of students.
Required skills
- NZ Electrical Registration.
- Strong practical experience in the electrical industry.
- Good communication, coaching and organisational abilities.
- Basic proficiency with digital tools such as Microsoft Office.
