Electrical TAFE Teacher (Full‑Time, Permanent)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced electrical trades professional to join CQUniversity’s School of Trades as a full‑time TAFE Teacher. You will deliver the Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Electrician) and mentor the next generation of electricians.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver classroom and workshop training for the Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Electrician).
• Guide students in selecting, installing, testing, fault‑finding, repairing and maintaining electrical systems and equipment.
• Prepare and mark assessments, provide ongoing student support and documentation.
• Manage a VET workload model of approximately 36.25 hrs/week, including up to 22 hrs of teaching.
• Collaborate with industry partners and maintain up‑to‑date technical knowledge.

Required profile

• Relevant electrical trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Electrotechnology) or equivalent.
• Current Queensland Electrical Licence, or ability to obtain one.
• Hands‑on industry experience in electrical installation, maintenance, fault finding, testing, commissioning or industrial settings.
• Interest in mentoring apprentices and supporting learners in both workshop and classroom environments.
• Willingness to work within a structured teaching environment that includes assessment and documentation.

What we offer

• Permanent full‑time position with a starting salary of $107,697 per year (approximately $56.93 hourly) plus 17 % superannuation.
