EDI Assistant Manager – Te Puna

About the role

We are looking for a motivated, detail‑focused EDI Assistant Manager to join our operational team at the Te Puna site. Reporting to the EDI Manager, you will oversee EDI processes, support the EDI/EAN team and ensure accurate data flow from the packhouse to Zespri, especially during peak harvest periods.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely data entry from the packhouse to Zespri.
• Lead, train and support EDI/EAN Operators, maintaining procedural adherence and data integrity.
• Verify that all packs are bar‑coded correctly with the right grower, size and variety information.
• Assist shipping and site teams to meet operational needs.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Inventory, Logistics, Site Management, Harvest Coordinators, Quality Controllers) and external partners (Zespri, AVOCO, Yieldia) to resolve data issues.
• Support the EDI Manager with projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety policies and company procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data management, inventory systems or EDI operations.
• Ability to train, supervise and motivate a small team.
• Strong planning, prioritising and time‑management skills, especially under peak‑season pressure.
• Excellent communication and a collaborative approach.
• High accuracy in data entry and record‑keeping.
• Flexible, self‑motivated and solution‑oriented mindset.
• Positive, energetic and enthusiastic attitude.
• Willingness to work flexible hours during the harvest period (March–June).
• Preferred experience in the kiwifruit or avocado industry and a tertiary qualification in business management or a related field.
