About the role

Kaipara District Council is seeking an Economic Development & Programmes Manager to lead partnerships, programmes and projects that shape the future of the Kaipara region. This full‑time position is based in Mangawhai (with the option to work from Dargaville) and offers flexible work‑from‑home arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage strategic partnerships that support regional economic growth.
• Design, implement and monitor programmes that deliver tangible benefits to the community.
• Oversee project delivery from planning through to completion, ensuring alignment with council objectives.
• Collaborate with council leadership and external stakeholders to identify opportunities and drive initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in economic development, programme management or related fields.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
