Duty Manager / Relief Night Manager

About the role

JO&JOE is looking for an energetic Duty Manager / Relief Night Manager to lead the Front Office team and ensure smooth hotel operations across day and night shifts. This part‑time role (32 hours per week) combines guest‑focused service with operational oversight in a vibrant, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Front Office activities during your shift, handling check‑ins, guest enquiries and daily reporting.
• Take charge of overnight operations, managing audits, arrivals and security.
• Deliver memorable guest experiences with a friendly, personal touch.
• Support, coach and motivate team members to maintain high service standards.
• Collaborate with other departments, including housekeeping, to keep the property running efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and make decisive decisions when needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a hotel or hostel leadership role.
• Strong front‑office knowledge; experience with Opera or MEWS is a plus.
• Confident communicator with calm problem‑solving abilities.
• Flexibility to work rotating nights, weekends and public holidays.
• First‑Aid certification preferred; LCQ or General Manager’s Certificate advantageous.
