Duty Manager

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Duty Manager to lead our team at The Whitby Co‑Op, a vibrant community‑focused venue on the shores of Whitby Lake. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and delivering a consistently high level of service to our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise staff during your shifts, ensuring smooth service and adherence to standards.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of licensing regulations and ensure the venue operates within legal requirements.
• Monitor financial performance, manage cash handling and oversee inventory control.
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues promptly to uphold a welcoming atmosphere.
• Coordinate with the management team to plan and execute community events and special promotions.

Required profile

• Current Duty Manager’s License.
• Minimum one year of experience in a similar hospitality management role.
• Strong leadership abilities and a keen eye for detail.
• Motivated, energetic and able to work effectively under pressure.
