Distribution Centre Team Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Distribution Centre (DC) Team Manager to join our Mangere DC in Auckland. Reporting to the DC Manager, you will lead a high‑performing team, ensuring efficient, accurate and on‑time service delivery while championing safety and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Meet service delivery performance targets for your area.
• Create and execute daily/weekly plans, communicating task priorities clearly.
• Champion operations excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide hands‑on leadership to front‑line team members, building trust and motivation.
• Lead safety practices through start‑up meetings, safety shares, warm‑ups, pre‑start checks and reinforcement of safe behaviours.
• Work flexibly across two shifts between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Required profile

• Passionate, hands‑on people leader with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven experience in warehouse or logistics operations, leading teams in fast‑paced, KPI‑driven environments.
• Ability to coordinate tasks, meet daily operational targets and make operational decisions.
• Understanding of labour models, associated costs and experience with WMS and RF devices.
• Demonstrated experience leading safety in an operational setting.
