Director of Operations

About the role

The Director of Operations will lead all operational departments at Rosewood Cape Kidnappers, ensuring seamless day‑to‑day running and an exceptional guest experience. In the Managing Director’s absence, this role assumes full responsibility for the property.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across Food & Beverage, Rooms, and Engineering divisions.
• Drive operational strategy, capital improvements and continuous enhancements.
• Foster an inclusive culture, mentor teams and support talent attraction and retention.
• Maintain strong relationships with guests, partners, suppliers and industry stakeholders.
• Oversee financial performance, revenue generation and cost management.
• Ensure the lodge’s luxury standards are upheld through proactive problem‑solving and attention to detail.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for hospitality and service excellence.
• Minimum 3 years’ management experience in a luxury lodge or 5‑star resort environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to lead diverse teams and promote diversity, equity and inclusion.
