About the role
The NZ Nurses Organisation is seeking a senior leader to serve as Director of Nursing and Professional Services. Based in Wellington Central, this full-time, on-site position will shape the voice of nurses, midwives and health care assistants across New Zealand and drive strategic initiatives within the senior leadership team.
Key responsibilities
- Advocate for nurses, midwives and health care assistants to ensure their perspectives are represented in policy and practice.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with agencies throughout the health sector.
- Implement the organisation’s strategic direction and plans as a member of the senior leadership team.
- Lead a national team of Professional Nurse Advisors who support nurses, NZNO Colleges and Sections, and other NZNO professionals.
Required profile
- Proven experience in nursing leadership and professional services within a health‑care environment.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior decision‑makers and collaborate with external health agencies.
- Strong communication skills to represent the interests of nursing staff at a national level.
