Director of Advancement & Community Engagement

About the role

Reporting directly to the Executive Principal, the Director of Advancement & Community Engagement leads a high‑performing team to shape the school’s communications, marketing, fundraising and alumni programmes. This senior, hands‑on position sits on the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for building a strong sense of belonging and generosity across the Kristin community.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the ELT to design and evaluate strategic plans that advance the school’s mission.
• Lead a portfolio of nine staff members across marketing, communications, fundraising, events, alumni relations and archives.
• Serve as the strategic lead for reputation, issue mitigation and crisis communications.
• Develop and nurture long‑term relationships with internal and external stakeholders, aligning efforts with admissions, staff and volunteers.
• Oversee the collection, analysis and reporting of community insights to continuously improve stakeholder experience.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in marketing, communications or advancement, preferably in education or the non‑profit sector.
• Strong background in reputation and crisis management with a focus on risk mitigation.
• Exceptional ability to build authentic relationships with diverse community groups.
• Strategic agility and excellent project‑management skills to juggle multiple high‑profile initiatives.
• Deep passion for education and community development, aligned with the school’s values of progress, vision, integrity and love.
