Director, Commercial Strategy

About the role

Halter is seeking a Director of Commercial Strategy to define and execute the growth roadmap for its innovative livestock management platform. Reporting to the VP of Commercial, you will blend high‑level strategic planning with hands‑on market testing to accelerate adoption across new segments and geographies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and continuously refine Halter’s commercial strategy, identifying target markets, channels, and high‑impact bets.
• Partner closely with the VP Commercial and senior leadership to make data‑driven decisions on market entry, pricing, and go‑to‑market approaches.
• Build, mentor, and lead a small, high‑performing Commercial Strategy team while remaining actively involved in modelling, narrative development, and analysis.
• Drive cross‑functional initiatives that span GTM, product, and operations, ensuring alignment and execution of strategic priorities.
• Validate hypotheses in the field by engaging directly with farmers and ranchers, translating insights into actionable plans.

Required profile

• Proven experience shaping commercial strategy in a fast‑growing, technology‑focused environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to build financial models and assess customer acquisition costs.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, capable of coaching a small team while rolling up sleeves to deliver results.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities, comfortable influencing senior executives.
