Director, Account Management – Pacific Islands

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a senior commercial leader to own and grow its Pacific Islands customer portfolio across 13 markets. The Director, Account Management will act as the primary strategic partner for key issuers, acquirers and strategic customers, driving revenue growth, retention and market expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Pacific Islands portfolio, building and maintaining executive relationships with key issuing and acquiring customers.
• Develop and execute account growth strategies to increase engagement, revenue and market share.
• Oversee implementation and optimisation of customer partnerships, collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
• Manage commercial negotiations, contracting and business planning processes.
• Identify selective new business opportunities to strengthen Mastercard’s regional position.
• Build trusted relationships with regulators, industry participants and other market stakeholders.
• Lead and develop a small team while fostering collaboration across regional and global functions.

Required profile

• Significant experience in payments, banking or financial services with direct client‑facing exposure.
• Strong executive presence and proven ability to engage senior customer stakeholders.
• Experience leading complex customer implementations, negotiations or transformation programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and customer success in a multi‑market environment.
