Digital Support Specialist

About the role

As a Digital Support Specialist you will keep the council connected, productive and supported by delivering first‑ and second‑line technical assistance across the organisation’s digital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑ and second‑line technical support to council staff across desktop, laptop, mobile and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Manage the full lifecycle of the council’s device fleet, including provisioning, deployment, maintenance and replacement.
• Administer user accounts, access permissions and software licensing within Microsoft 365.
• Support technology roll‑outs, hardware deployments and continuous‑improvement initiatives in collaboration with the wider Digital team.
• Maintain accurate records of assets, incidents and service requests.

Required profile

• Customer‑focused professional with strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage competing priorities.
• Team player who contributes to collaborative projects and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Experience delivering first‑ and second‑line IT support.
• Knowledge of device provisioning and endpoint management processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 administration, including user accounts, permissions and licensing.
• Understanding of hardware lifecycle management.
