Delivery Planning Project Manager

About the role

The Delivery Planning Project Manager will lead the early phases of electricity infrastructure projects, from concept through financial approval. Based in Whanganui (with flexibility for Palmerston North or New Plymouth), the role focuses on front‑end loading to add value, reduce risk and deliver a pipeline of "ready to deliver" projects.

Key responsibilities

• Validate project scopes and identify uncertainties or complexities.
• Oversee detailed design development and ensure accurate, continuous reporting.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to prepare and manage contractor documentation.
• Develop robust schedules, forecast costs against budgets and manage project risks.
• Facilitate communication between internal and external stakeholders to keep projects on track.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project management with strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
• Experience in electricity distribution, utilities or industrial infrastructure is advantageous.
• Ability to define and deliver project tasks from concept, create achievable schedules and manage budgets.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills for daily stakeholder interaction.
