Databricks Architect – Lead Data Practice

About the role

We are seeking a senior Databricks Architect to join a leading AI and Data Analytics consulting firm in Auckland. The role sits within a growing Databricks Center of Excellence and involves driving sales, consulting, and delivery across the practice while mentoring engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with data leaders to support sales, recruiting, account management and operational excellence.
• Lead and deliver Databricks projects, acting as the subject‑matter expert for architecture, data engineering and scalable analytics.
• Manage project risk, planning, budgeting and executive alignment.
• Develop proposals, statements of work and strategies to expand the firm’s footprint in existing accounts.
• Provide technical guidance on Databricks, modern data platforms and cloud‑native solutions to clients and internal teams.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, architecture design and delivery of large‑scale data solutions.
• Proven leadership ability to mentor teams, drive best practices and influence client outcomes.
• Strong business acumen with a focus on delivering tech‑enabled results.
