Data Product Manager

About the role

Fonterra is investing in its Data & AI capabilities, including a new oCFO Data & AI team whose vision is to automate and augment finance with data and AI. It is expanding the team and is hiring a Data Product Manager for the office of the CFO covering procurement and finance. The role owns the data product strategy, partnering with business leaders to find where data can unlock value and improve decision-making.

Key responsibilities

• Own the data product strategy for the CFO office, ensuring investment and delivery focus on the most important opportunities
• Partner with business leaders to identify where data can unlock value and improve decision-making
• Guide data products from concept through delivery and ongoing optimisation, working across business, data and technology teams
• Balance competing priorities and shape investment decisions so products evolve with changing business needs

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in technology, transformation or commercial functions within large organisations
• Background in finance, accounting or commercial roles, or leading large-scale data and transformation initiatives
• Strong commercial and/or financial acumen, including business cases, funding proposals, budget planning and value realisation
• Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams and developing people and capability
• Ability to balance priorities, dependencies and shape investment decisions

Required skills

• Understanding of data pipeline and BI/reporting fundamentals (data modelling, ingestion, semantic layers)
• Ability to lead data governance, data quality, analytics and emerging AI initiatives
• Translating business strategy and user needs into prioritised data products and roadmaps
