About the role
The Data Governance Lead will own the data governance, information management and compliance practices across the organisation. Reporting to senior management, you will shape how data is stored, protected and utilised while ensuring regulatory and contractual obligations are met.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and embed data governance policies, standards and controls.
- Promote best practice for information and email storage.
- Support GDPR, information security and data compliance initiatives.
- Manage data quality, retention and lifecycle processes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve governance and reduce risk.
- Assist with ISO27001, Cyber Essentials and broader compliance activities.
- Provide guidance and training on data management best practice.
- Ensure contractual and regulatory data obligations are fulfilled.
Required profile
- Experience implementing or maintaining data governance frameworks.
- Knowledge of GDPR and information management best practices.
- Understanding of data security, retention and compliance controls.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Proven ability to create policies, standards and procedures.
