Data Consultant / Engineer – Databricks & DLT Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Data Consultant / Engineer with strong client‑facing experience on the Databricks platform and Delta Live Tables. The role involves designing, building and governing modern data platforms for multiple organisations, with a focus on secure, scalable pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain data platforms on Databricks and Microsoft Fabric.
• Implement governance models, data catalogs and metadata management, including Unity Catalog.
• Build and optimise data pipelines using Delta Live Tables and Lakeflow connections.
• Apply data‑modelling techniques (star and snowflake schemas) for analytical and operational workloads.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions and CI/CD pipelines for data engineering.
• Lead source‑control practices with Git or Azure DevOps and enforce coding standards.
• Design and execute automated testing, data validation and performance optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proven client‑facing experience with Databricks, Delta Live Tables and related services.
• Strong understanding of cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Experience delivering data solutions in an Agile, DevOps‑driven setting.

Required skills

• Python and SQL programming
• Terraform or equivalent IaC tools
• Git, Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
• Data modelling (star and snowflake schemas)
• Infrastructure automation and performance testing
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (advantage)
