Data Analyst – Risk Management (Public Health)

About the role
This permanent, full‑time position sits at the intersection of data, risk and public impact, helping New Zealand manage food safety. You will work with diverse datasets to build a clearer picture of system performance, emerging risks and improvement opportunities, directly supporting decision‑makers.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse data to identify risks, trends and patterns.
- Deliver actionable insights that support risk‑based decisions.
- Build and maintain dashboards, tools and automated reporting using Power BI.
- Translate complex data into clear visualisations and narratives.
- Improve data quality, analytical methods and overall system performance.
Required profile
- Enjoy making sense of complexity and communicating findings clearly.
- Curious, comfortable with ambiguity and able to balance multiple priorities.
- Strong stakeholder‑management skills and experience working in government or regulated sectors.
Required skills
- Strong SQL proficiency.
- Experience building dashboards with Power BI.
