Data Analyst – Digital Team

About the role

Mott MacDonald is expanding its Digital team in Auckland and is looking for a Data Analyst who can turn complex data into actionable insights for infrastructure, environmental and engineering projects across New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse, interpret and validate datasets to identify trends, anomalies and improvement opportunities.
• Develop reports, dashboards and visualisations that support project delivery and client outcomes.
• Support automation initiatives, process improvements and data‑workflow design.
• Perform data quality checks, calibration, calculations and reporting activities.
• Collaborate closely with project teams to understand requirements and deliver high‑quality analytical outputs.
• Contribute to project success by meeting agreed budgets, timeframes and quality standards.
• Assist with stakeholder engagement and maintain accurate documentation following information‑management processes.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics or a related discipline.
• Proven experience analysing and interpreting complex datasets.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within project teams.
• Proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement.
