Dairy Farm Assistant – Progressive Dairy Farm near Taupō

About the role

Join a high‑performing team at Achilles Dairy, a progressive dairy operation just 15 minutes from Taupō. As a Dairy Farm Assistant you will work alongside the Farm Manager, contributing to daily milking, animal care and farm maintenance while developing your skills in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with milking 2,150 cows using a 60‑bail rotary shed.
• Support calving, feeding, and general animal welfare tasks.
• Manage effluent, spray treatments and maintain fencing.
• Utilise Halter technology to improve stock management efficiency.
• Help with day‑to‑day farm operations and health & safety compliance.

Required profile

• Willingness to learn and take initiative.
• Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive attitude toward animal welfare and safety.
• Current NZ restricted or full driver’s licence.
• Experience in dairy farming or a strong interest in developing one.

Required skills

• Experience or familiarity with Halter technology on farm.
