Dairy Farm Assistant – Organic Dairy Farm

About the role

Join a high‑performing organic dairy farm where you will gain hands‑on experience across the full farming cycle. Working alongside an experienced farm manager, you will learn modern halter technology and develop practical dairy skills in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Milking, calving and feeding a herd of 700 organic cows.
• Performing general farm duties such as cleaning, maintenance and stock handling.
• Operating and learning the new halter technology system.
• Assisting with organic herd management, animal health checks and dairy shed routines.
• Ensuring health and safety standards are met and using provided PPE.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, hands‑on attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive approach with a commitment to animal welfare and safety.
• Current NZ restricted or full driver’s licence.

Required skills

• NZ driver’s licence (restricted or full).
