Dairy Farm Assistant – Hands‑on Role on Large‑Scale Farm

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Dairy Farm Assistant to join the Bounty Dairy team near Taupō. You will work on a 629‑ha, large‑scale dairy operation, gaining hands‑on experience across milking, animal care and farm management.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with milking using a 60‑bail rotary system.
• Support calving, feeding, and general livestock handling.
• Manage effluent, spray applications and fence maintenance.
• Operate Halter technology for animal tracking and movement.
• Help with shed and animal health monitoring, mating plans and stock movement.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, hands‑on attitude with a passion for farming.
• Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive, safety‑focused and committed to animal welfare.
• Current NZ restricted or full driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Experience or interest in dairy farm operations.
• Familiarity with Halter technology.
• Basic knowledge of effluent management and farm spraying.
