Customer Service Representative – Public Sector (Whanganui)

About the role

We are seeking an adaptable Customer Service Representative to join a public‑sector team in central Whanganui on a temporary basis until June 2027. This full‑time position works Monday to Friday during standard business hours and serves as the first point of contact for customers and whānau across digital and phone channels.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑call resolution for customer and whānau enquiries.
• Manage inbound and outbound calls with a high level of accuracy.
• Maintain detailed records and update databases efficiently.
• Interpret and apply policies and regulations to a variety of enquiries.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and responsive service.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a customer‑facing or contact‑centre role.
• Excellent oral, listening and written communication skills.
• High degree of computer literacy and ability to learn new systems.
• Proven ability to remain composed and focused under pressure.
