Customer & Operations Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Customer & Operations Manager to join Plains Power in Ashburton. This hybrid role blends hands‑on work on farms with building strong relationships with rural customers, helping shape our agribusiness services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain genuine relationships with farmers and rural businesses across Canterbury.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customers, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
• Support day‑to‑day farm operations, ensuring smooth service delivery and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities to expand our service offering.
• Lead operational initiatives that improve processes and drive commercial results.

• Strong agricultural knowledge and experience working in a rural environment.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to think strategically about customer value.
• Leadership qualities to guide teams and influence business direction.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid setting, balancing on‑farm presence with office responsibilities.
