About the role
The Curriculum Advisor is a permanent, full‑time position based in the Whangarei region. You will work closely with schools, kura and early‑learning services to help them design and implement high‑quality teaching and learning programmes, with a focus on secondary education.
Key responsibilities
- Provide expert support for the development of teaching and learning programmes, including assessment practices, aligned with government curriculum priorities.
- Identify, design and deliver curriculum resources that meet the diverse educational needs of all students, emphasizing equitable achievement.
- Collaborate with whānau, hapū and iwi to ensure programmes reflect the aspirations of tamariki and incorporate te ao Māori perspectives.
- Build and nurture collaborative networks within communities, sharing best practices and fostering professional change.
Required profile
- Strong, proven curriculum design expertise with recent practical experience in schools; secondary‑education experience is an advantage.
- Extensive knowledge of teaching and learning, leadership, and curriculum and assessment theory and practice.
- Experience with te ao Māori, including understanding of Te Reo, tikanga and mātauranga Māori.
- Understanding of design thinking as it applies to inclusive learning design.
